Who We Are

Alexandra Lawes

Alex first became involved with Alternate Shadows in 2012, after seeing an audition notice in the local paper. Luckily, her portrayal of Charles Dickens' downtrodden wife in Hero or Zero was deemed good enough for her to return in one of Alternate Shadows' acclaimed Murder Mysteries - playing the corpse of an elderly woman.

Since then, she's gone from strength to strength, having performed in many more Murder Mysteries as well as having competed at the Southern Counties Drama Festival at The Barn Theatre, Oxted, in both The Canary Cage and Alas, Poor Geoffrey in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Alex has even captained the Ladies' team at the 2013 Battle of the Sexes, taking them all the way to second place. She has seen some success with Alternate Shadows at the Duncan Rand One-Act Play Festival at Medway Little Theatre, too, winning Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her portrayal of Fiona in Camp Confidence in 2014.

Alex is immensely grateful to everyone at Alternate Shadows for welcoming her into what is such a fun, crazy and addictive world. After all, once you go Alternate Shadows, you don't go back...dows! You don't go backdows. Yeah.
