Who We Are

Steve Perrin

I started acting at the age of 10 after joining the youth workshop of Medway Little Theatre and continued with the group for 8 years.

As I was encouraged to continue with acting I studied Drama GCSE and Performing Arts 'A' level.

I first got involved with Alternate Shadows in 2000 and have enjoyed a vast range of roles over the years from one act plays to pantomimes and murder mysteries. I was also involved in the Alternate Shadows production of 'Twisted Tales' at the Edinborough fringe festival in 2001.

Over the years I have participated in several one act play festivals with Alternate Shadows winning a best supporting actor award in 2004 and the best actor in a leading role award in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2015.

I have also written plays that have been entered into one act play festivals. The first of which 'I wish I was special' won best original play and best overall production in 2011 and my second play 'Cause and Effect' came third place in 2013.

My directorial debut came with 'Survive' in 2015, a third play written by myself. This production finished fourth in a one act play festival winning three acting awards.

I have gained vast experience and made some excellent friends working with Alternate Shadows which I'm sure will continue for many years to come.
